More on Milo

I worked on Milo a bit tonight.



He looks like a beefcake. Those arms are a bit large. That's probably because they go off the page. I am fairly happy with his face. I think the right side - the chin needs a little correction. The shadows may be off.

Anyway, this has really been re-teaching me a lot about illustration and what it is really about: meditation. I just focus on the details and observe. I may never be done with this drawing and who cares? The act of drawing is its own reward.

In the Bhagavad Gita, Arjuna is told “you are not entitled to the fruits of your labor, only to your labor.” This is something that has become something of a mantra for me in recent times.
